Reaching Abilities

Reaching Abilities is all about family. It is family experience of disability that led to the establishment of the organisation and family is at the forefront of how they approach the delivery of supports and care. This is a provider that is motivated and driven by a true passion to make a difference in the lives of those with a disability as a result of their lived experience and understanding of the realities for the person with a disability as well as their family and carers.

Reaching Abilities offer supports that extend across an array of service areas including Supported Independent Living, Short Term Accommodation and Respite, Medium Term Accommodation, Community Participation, Plan Management, Support Coordination, In-home Support, Cooking Classes in Western Australia and Early Childhood Support. They are now working with and seek additional Support Coordinators in the Sydney area and have large aspirations for more in-home care, increased housing, additional allied health services, and domestic cleaning.

They also have a large range of Day Programs accessible to clients, to help them acquire new skills and gain independence. By encouraging participants to join their Day Programs, they offer assistance to clients so they can spread their wings away from their typical routine and learn new skills. These activities motivate and guarantee that clients are connecting with and being included in the community whilst having fun.

Activities include Sight-seeing, Discovering new locations, Art, Cooking, Gardening, Gym classes and Sports. There is truly something to meet everyone’s interests and aspirations.

Reaching Abilities aim to be a one-stop shop when it comes to NDIS supports and offering participants a complete package of care.

They also have a variety of Support Workers who are multilingual further breaking down barriers to quality care that exists via language difficulties.

Their vision and mission is to empower, encourage and enable people who have disabilities to enhance their quality of life with dignity and respect.
