Fine Care

Sydney-based Fine Care is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) support service with a unique, holistic approach to care and services.

Fine Care offers a wide range of services inside and out that provides a way to help participants achieve their goals set out in their plans and help maintain independence over their lives.

These include:

Assistance services:

• Support coordination: Participants are helped to build the skills needed to understand, implement and use their plan. A support coordinator will work with you to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community
• Assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transition and supports: Short and long-term support focuses on strengthening your ability to coordinate the services in your NDIS plan to assist you to live at home and participate in your community.
• Management of funding for supports: Fine Care help you in the financial management of NDIS plan. This can include making payments to providers, processing expense claims, providing monthly statements and claims for payment from the NDIA.

Social services:

• Virtual Life Skills: An in-development Virtual Reality (VR) program to help participants build capacity areas like shopping, personal hygiene, cooking and cleaning tasks.
• Innovative community participation: The team likes to work with our participants within their own communities. This helps foster a more successful transition away from our service once you feel you no longer need the help.
• Daily personal activities: Staff can assist and/or supervise personal tasks in your daily life to encourage you to live autonomously. These individual support services can be undertaken in a range of settings to make you most comfortable, including but not limited to, your own home.
• Social and community participation: Fine Care work with you to support the social goals in your NDIS plan to be involved in community, social or recreational activities. These activities may be conducted in a private centre or in a collaborative, community setting.
• Community Nursing Care: The provision of specialist care for participants with needs requiring a higher level of skill is available to all participants. Our trained support workers are able to respond to your complex needs and adapt to the situation you are in to ensure your care is as tailored and comfortable as you need it to be.
• Group & centre-based activities: Staff help and encourage our participants to join community, social and recreational group activities in order to foster an inclusive and stimulating environment. You will have opportunities to meet new people, make connections and learn new skills in a social and engaging way.

Accommodation & respite:

• Completed in June 2022, our SDA facility includes seven SDA-approved bedrooms, three SDA-approved bathrooms and three kitchens, all with brand new appliances.
• Specialist disability accommodation: If you require specialist housing solutions, Fine Care can help with searching for accommodation that caters to any impairments and high support needs.
• Supported Independent Living: SIL assists and/or supervises your daily tasks so that you may build your skills and live as independently as possible. SIL refers to the paid personal supports and is most commonly used in shared living arrangements.
• Short term accommodation: This type of accommodation includes respite, and funds support and living arrangement for a period away from your home. It covers the cost of your care in another location for up to 14 days at a time. You might have a short stay with other people or by yourself. It’s often funded when your usual carers cannot fulfil their caring responsibilities.
• Medium term accommodation: This type of accommodation provides you with a place to stay while you are waiting on a long term housing solution. The business will fund this if you are waiting on support and services related to your disability and have a confirmed long term housing solution. Medium term accommodation is usually funded for up to 90 days.
