You can help raise awareness for Mental Health Month this month by putting One Foot Forward.
October is Mental Health Month.
Eight Australians die by suicide every day.
To help prevent these deaths and shine the light on suicide prevention, The Black Dog Institute of Australia is inviting us all to step out and help save lives during their One Foot Forward campaign this month.
So far, the institute has raised $4,884,019 with nearly 37,000 stepping out for mental health and by walking together and standing together we can help this figure grow.
The statistics are staggering:
The institute believes that together we can make a difference.
All you have to do is sign up for One Foot Forward and record your steps.
“Let's show people with mental illness that we're in this together,” a spokesperson for the institute said.
“Funds raised will help Black Dog Institute put ground-breaking new mental health tools that work into the hands of people who need them.”
