New South Wales-based organisation Aruma may be a disability service provider but they are also so much more.

They are the helper, mentor and coach and the trusted partner of around 5000 people with a disability throughout the east coast of Australia.

With branches across NSW, Queensland, Victoria and the ACT, Aruma might be a new name, but they’re not the new kids on the disability sector block.

You once knew them as House with No Steps and The Tipping Foundation – two great organisations, with more than 100 years of combined experience, that united in 2018.

Aruma never uses a one-size-fits-all approach. You know how to live your best life – the Aruma team is here to support you to do just that.

There are services to suit every body and all circumstances from National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) support to employment help, including:

Home and living support

Whether you’re moving out, need a change of scenery, want a bit of extra support, or are ready to try something new, we have so many Home and Living options for you.

Aruma offers all NDIS Home and Living Supports except Home Modifications and Assistive Technology, so you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Social and community participation

Under the NDIS, social and community services are about supporting people with a disability to take part in their community.

This is just another way of saying it’s about getting out and about, meeting people, and trying new things!

That might be signing up for an art class, going on a holiday, learning to play an instrument, or many other activities.

Therapeutic supports

Services for adults with a disability who need a bit of extra support. Aruma’s therapeutic supports for adults include occupational therapy and behaviour support.

They currently growing their Occupational Therapy services across a range of locations in NSW, Queensland, and Victoria For Therapeutic Supports for children, visit Early Childhood Intervention.

Children's services

Our services for children with a disability put you and your family first.

From child safety and early childhood intervention to behaviour support and out of home care to respite care - and everything in between - Aruma has your family covered.

NDIS support coordination

Want a provider that actually gets you? Aruma support coordinators can connect you with the right NDIS services.

Aruma's Behaviour Support Services

Behaviour support works to understand why a person may engage in inappropriate, challenging, or unsafe behaviour.

The team at Aruma can help to understand why an adult or a child with a disability may engage in inappropriate, challenging, or unsafe behaviours, and work together to find a solution.

Supported Employment

With supported employment you’ll earn your own money, get experience and become part of the amazing Aruma team!

For people with a disability who are not able to work without support, Australian Disability Enterprises, such as Aruma, offer what’s called Supported Employment.

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

Want to get stuck into work? That’s where School Leaver Employment Supports can help you learn the skills to find a job!

SLES is an NDIS support for young people with a disability. It can help you kick-start your career by building up your job skills, confidence and independence – and it’s available for up to two years after you finish school.

As well as its many services, the friendly, passionate Aruma team will also be there for participants and their families and carers to take the time and explain the complexities of the NDIS, particularly if participants are new to the Scheme and have their first plan.

They get the NDIS might seem complicated, but don't let that scare you! Aruma can help you find out what it's all about.
